Altera Inde – New music
Committed to the creation and development of new repertoire, the Altera Inde artistic project (Diego
Carretero & Sara Zazo) delves into the heart of the contemporary music scene. By collaborating with
composers and commissioning new works, Altera Inde aims to broaden the saxophone duo’s repertoire and
highlight the artistic expressions of our time.
Carretero and Zazo have been part of the Cex- Saxo Duo for 5 years, an artistic and educa- tional project
with a notable presence in Ex- tremadura. Between 2013 and 2018, the duo pre- miered over 20 works by
composers such as G. Navarro, S. Movio, I. Badalo, D. Sprintz, among others, and gave concerts in various
ve- nues in France, Spain, England and Switzer- land.
In 2019 and with a new identity, they release their first studio album: HIRAETH, a work that brings together
masterpieces for the saxophone duo formation. HIRAETH marks the end of an era, that of CexSaxo Duo, and
represents a turning point and departure for Altera Inde, taking the duo down new paths with the aim of
experimenting with music alongside theater, electronics and video.
Altera Inde’s latest artistic engagements have taken the duo to venues in Berlin (DE) and Lausanne (CH), as
well as recent recordings of pieces by Luciano Berio and works dedicated to the Duo by Álex Ante and María
Quintanilla.
Future artistic commitments include recordings of works by Juan Alberto Trigueros and Inés Badalo, as well
as future artistic residencies with the composers of future artistic projects, Giulia Lorusso and Gonzalo
Navarro.
